David Beck - Principal, Datum Road Safety

David Beck is the Principal of Datum Road Safety and an independent road safety consultant, forensic crash
investigator, and expert witness based in Sydney. With over two decades' experience across government, research,
consulting, infrastructure, and transport sectors, he specialises in road safety, crash investigation, vehicle safety, and
workplace transport risk.
Drawing on Safe System principles and contemporary safety management practice, David works with government
agencies, legal professionals, insurers, and private organisations to understand crash causation, identify systemic risk
factors, and develop practical measures to prevent fatal and serious injuries. He is a contributor to the Australasian
College of Road Safety's Road Safety Body of Knowledge and is passionate about applying lessons from road safety to improve workplace transport safety outcomes.
