In this course, you will come to appreciate the theory and practice of a concept that you have probably been doing throughout your professional career, but not realized it until now. You will learn the nature of job crafting, or how employees make proactive changes and adjustments to their jobs to increase person-job fit and enhance meaning and identity at work. We will chart the evolution of job crafting ideas and the broader societal factors and trends that make job crafting even more essential than ever. The course also covers some of the underpinning psychological theories that explain the positive (and negative) effects of different types of job crafting.
