WorkCover NSW: Fatal head injury costs company $104,000

WorkCover NSW investigated Albany International Pty Ltd after an incident in January 2010, where a worker died following fatal head injuries sustained when the worker was struck on the head by a section of steel frame that fell from an industrial textile machine.
Following the investigation, Albany International Pty Ltd was charged with a breach of the OHS Act 2000 section 8(1). The result was that on 7 June 2012 the defendant was convicted by the Court and fined $104,000.
