SafeWork SA: Assistance for small business operators

Are you a small business operator or supply WHS services to small business? Then SafeWork SA’s 'Safe Business is Good Business' information sessions may help.

SafeWork SA advise that they are conducting a series of free information sessions designed to help small businesses effectively manage safety in the workplace.

The information sessions are designed to provide straightforward ways to determine how well small business is currently managing safety. SafeWork SA advise that the two-hour information sessions address the following topics:

  • management commitment to safety
  • consultation 
  • developing and implementing safe work procedures 
  • training and supervision of employees 
  • reporting safety issues 
  • workers compensation and return to work programs 
  • self-assessing your business

The session also introduces participants to the free 'Serious About Safe Business' kit, which demonstrates simple methods to manage and improve safety in the workplace. SafeWork SA advises that the kit is specifically designed for small business and provides a simplified safety management framework. The kit can be found at SafeWork SA’s website.

The next 'Safe Business is Good Business' information session will be held on Monday 3rd September 2012 at The Northbank Room, Lakes Resort Hotel, 141 Brebner Drive, West Lakes. The session commences at 6:00pm and concludes at 8:00pm.
