The SIA National Board of Management (NBOM) meet via teleconference on 12 February 2009 and agreed that the attached report, prepared by Keith Hoskins, NSW Division National Representative, should now be distributed to all SIA members inviting feedback.
Accordingly, the NBOM would encourage members to provide any feedback considered necessary, e.g. via use on the SIA website Members' Discussion Forum, or by sending comments direct to members of the NBOM, State / Territory Division Presidents, the CEO or the SIA National Administrator on E: firstname.lastname@example.org .
As recently advised, last year the NBOM initiated a review of our current eNewsletter capability. Part of this review included a survey of members to ascertain your needs and aspirations. The results of this survey have now been analysed and considered by the NBOM. In the meantime, Kevin Jones FSIA, Manager Workplace Safety Services Pty Ltd (WSS), has been contracted from 19 January - 31 May 2009 to assist the Institute to prepare SafetyWeek. Under this contract, the editorial role and responsibility is now undertaken by the SIA (previously WSS) and the weekly editions of Safety Week will not include any AAP material (which for contractual reasons between WSS and AAP was promulgated separately as SafetyWeek+).
Additionally, during April, a request for tender will be issued widely to invite WSS and other organisations regarding our future eNewsletter capability. The NBOM will administer the tender evaluation, selection and appointment process.
On behalf of the NBOM, I would like to acknowledge Kevin Jones for his professional efforts in producing SafetyWeek and SafetyWeek+.
Thank you to all of those members who responded to the survey referred to above. I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage all members to continue to contribute articles for SafetyWeek, Australian Safety and Health Matters and to actively participate in the member, public and special interest group discussions forums on the SIA website.
