This week the Australian Institute of Health & Safety celebrates National Volunteer Week 2023 and takes this opportunity to extend our gratitude to the hundreds of volunteers who selflessly dedicate their valuable time to the work of the Institute. Their unwavering commitment and tireless efforts have been instrumental in furthering the workplace health and safety profession in Australia.

Julia Whitford, CEO of the AIHS, acknowledged the immense value volunteers bring to the organization. She said, "Our volunteers are the unsung heroes behind the scenes, and we are incredibly grateful for their invaluable contribution. The Institute always remembers that everything we do is built on many years of contributions by so many people in our community.”

National Volunteer Week serves as a platform to recognize and celebrate the exceptional contributions volunteers make to organizations and communities. It also provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of volunteering and to inspire others to join this noble cause.

The AIHS encourages everyone to take a moment during National Volunteer Week to reflect on the profound impact volunteers have on organizations and society as a whole. Their unwavering commitment and dedication inspire us all to work towards a safer, healthier future for all Australian workers.
