Dear SIA Members

The SIA and Cancer Council Australia are proud strategic partners. Accordingly, the Institute is pleased to support kNOw cancer in the workplace, a national forum which will be conducted by Cancer Council Australia, in conjunction with the ACTU, at the ANU University, Canberra, on 10 December 2009.

With a regular stream of media reports about cancer clusters in workplaces, chemical exposures and concerns about technology such as mobile phones and other devices, Australian workers are feeling increasingly anxious about their cancer risk at work.

But what are the real risks of occupational cancer and what can employers do to safeguard their workers?

This forum will explore the issues of workplace cancer and the challenges facing employers in protecting their employees and communicating about cancer issues.

The attached brochure provides all required information on this important forum, including how to register. For any further information please contact Lauren Atkinson on (08) 92124379 or email education@cancerwa.asn.au.
