
The SIA is a proud strategic partner of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH), through forums such as the Congress of Occupational Safety and Health Association Presidents (COSHAP) and the Health and Safety Professionals Alliance (HaSPA).
Under this partnership, Ms Kerrie Burton, the AIOH Education Co-ordinator, has provided information on Radiation and Asbestos Seminars planned to be conducted by the AIOH during July and August 2008 in various locations around Australia and has kindly extended an invitation to SIA members.
IONISING RADIATION SEMINARS - Sydney (0830-1630, 22 July), Melbourne (0830-1630, 23 July), Brisbane (0900-1700, 25 July), Adelaide (0900-1700, 4 August), Perth (0900-1700, 6 August) and Darwin (0900-1700, 8 August)
This series of seminars are aimed at introducing attendees to ionising radiation, the hazards associated with it and their control.
ASBESTOS SEMINAR - Hobart (0830-1630, 22 July)
This seminar will present an overview of the current state of knowledge and important occupational and environmental aspects of this issue.

SIA members are being offered a 10% discount on the non-member price. The AIOH has requested that SIA members wishing to attend a seminar should identify themselves on the registration form as an SIA member to receive the discounted registration fee.
SIA members will also be eligible to earn one Continuing Professional Development (CPD) point from attendance at such one-day seminars.
