Join us on Thursday 6 October for a webinar presentation titled: Safety of Machinery series – Introduction to Risk Assessment, presented by Serg Avkovic, Safety Services Engineer at Pilz, and Adam Hallinan, Training Manager Pilz.
Did you know in Australia there were 107,335 serious worker compensation claims made in 2017-18? That’s almost 300 serious incidents occurring every day. A Risk Assessment is the simplest way to recognise and control hazards in the workplace, reduce incidents, and subsequently save lives and limbs, as well as costs, by being proactive.
Machines can help improve production efficiency in the workplace. However, their moving parts, sharp edges, and hot surfaces are often the cause of serious workplace injuries such as crushed fingers or hands, amputations, burns, blindness, or even death. Safeguards are essential to protect workers from injury. During this presentation, we will introduce AS/NZS4024.1201 General principles for design—Risk assessment and risk reduction.
The webinar includes a practical demonstration of the risk assessment process, as it is applied to machinery. Participants will be able to follow along using the supplied Hazard Identification template which can also be utilised as a base to develop a workplace’s own risk assessment document.
