Join us from Monday 13th March 2023 - Thursday 23 March 2023, from  11:00 to 14:30 (AEDT) each session for a four-part online workshop that explores the concept of "leader as coach".

Coaching is a key skill for managers, leaders and safety professionals to get the best out of every team member. When managers become a coach, not a boss, employee engagement and performance improve. Improving the coaching skills of one manager has an exponential effect in your workplace, as it increases employee performance, engagement, wellbeing and buy-in to your goals.

Leaders and safety professionals who attend this program will be able to have coach-like conversations the very next day that will build respect, inclusive teamwork and improve organisational culture. It is a highly practical program where the focus is on watching demonstrations of coaching and lots of practice and support to implement the new learning.

This session will cover the three key elements that make coaching work:

  1. Solution Focus Coaching Model and Solution Focused Tools that support this model

  1. Key conversational skills

  1. Coaching Way of Being (Emotional Intelligence)

Learning Outcomes:

  • Confidence to begin coaching immediately when back at work

  • Better skills in providing and receiving feedback

  • An opportunity to experience the impact of coaching style conversations that focus on real work scenarios

  • Deeper understanding and competence in the Solution Focus Coaching model and Solution Focus tools that help support progress fast

  • Foster a psychologically safe environment for everyone to be confident and proactive

  • Improved emotional intelligence to build more trusting relationships

  • Create a commitment and personal action plan to take coaching forward

  • Be able to consciously practice inclusion, encouraging innovation, skill diversity and creativity

Attendee Testimonial:

“During my previous time at Laing O’Rourke as GM HSE,  Annette delivered our coaching program to HSE professionals and project management teams. This was a component of our safety strategy at the time for developing core skills within the HSE team. The program and Annette’s style connected extremely well with the participants. The feedback we received and ongoing individual outcomes observed were outstanding.“  (Tim Fleming)
