Join us on Wednesday 16 June 2021 for the North West Sydney and Central Coast safety group meeting

Topic: Sydney Trains operates a network that is over 165 years old – filling the gaps

Sydney Trains operates a network that is over 165 years old, over that time, the infrastructure in some instances has not changed.

On average 5 people “fall in the gap” between the platform / train interface.

In the year 2021, that is no longer acceptable.

In the session we will talk about:

·       What was the driver for change,

·       The leadership it took,

·       How technology sometime becomes too complicated, and

·       Why sometime simpler is best.

PresenterRob Austin is the Director of Delivery Support with Sydney Trains. Rob has been with Sydney Trains for 4 years and have worked within Transport for NSW for 7 years. As the Director of Delivery support, Rob has the responsibility for the operation of the Stations and Precinct environment across the 165 stations.
